On the evening of June 26, residents and guests of the city of Šilutė celebrated the 180th birthday of Vėtrungia, enjoying the traditional drink of the region of Lesser Lithuania – coffee! The Windmills and Coffee Day in Šilute, which attracted a large crowd of spectators, started the 11th game season of the national cultural road „Vētrungii kelias” curated by the Šilute Culture and Entertainment Center.

On June 26, the Šilutė Cultural Center together with the cultural heritage tea and coffee producers „Dvaro kavos” invited you to feel the taste of Little Lithuania and try the authentic ethnographic drink of the Little Lithuania region – coffee – which is made from local raw materials (acorns, barley, carrots, chicory) and flavored with milk. This year, Coffee Days are even more special, because thanks to the application submitted by the Šilutė Cultural Center and its partners, the practice of reviving the culture of drinking coffee in Lithuania Minor has been added to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage values.

Priekulė's Ernst Wichert Theater gave the event uniqueness. Actors dressed in authentic costumes of Little Lithuania subtly presented the traditions and rituals of coffee drinking. Indrė Skablauskaitė, the nurturer of the Šišioniškii language, and ethnographer Adma Baltutienė informatively introduced the gathering to the history of coffee and the intricacies of production. The evening ended with a musical project – ethnic electronic music duo Liucija Nanartavičiūtė together with a DJ – in which traditional Lithuanian folk songs sounded in a modern way.

Today marks the start of the 11th season of the Storm Road game! The game administered by the Šilutė Cultural Center offers an opportunity to get to know the cultural, natural and culinary heritage of the ethnographic region of Lithuania Minor. The main themes of this year's update of the weathervane road game are the weathervane's 180th birthday, the Year of Lighthouses and the Song Festival commemorating the centenary. It's easy to start the game around Little Lithuania – download the mobile app on your phone, complete the tasks, collect the prizes! The season lasts until September 27 in the entire region of Lithuania Minor.

The national cultural road „Vētrungii kelias” invites you to get to know Little Lithuania this summer by traveling, playing and getting involved in the contemporary art festival „Traveling weather vane: faith, legends and giants of books”. The opening of the festival already took place on June 21 in Bitėnai, in the Martynas Jankaus Museum of Pagėgii municipality. Here, to the music of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra (artistic director Mindaugas Bačkus), the texts of playwright Mindaugas Valiuks were read during the event.

The upcoming festival event is scheduled for July 13 in Nida, on the Parnidis dune near the sundial. At sunset twilight, soloist Laurita Peleniūtė will perform her musical program with the group, by „catching” amber through mystified light projections, the festival participants will enter the area where amber whispering legends still live. The last event of the festival will take place at the Vente Horn lighthouse on August 16. Watching the modern dance program of the Nuepiko dance troupe, listening to enchanting modern and folklore music, the festival audience will get to know the spirit and faith of the oldest lighthouse in Lithuania Minor, and in commemoration of the Year of Lighthouses, the convocation of the lighthouses of Nida and Ventė horn will take place.
