On April 15, in commemoration of the World Culture Day, we planted a purple oak tree with songs in the park near the Šilutė Culture and Entertainment Center, symbolizing the centenary of the Lithuanian Song Festival.

This year, one of the most important traditions of our country – the Lithuanian Song Festival – celebrates its centenary. The holiday is called „To keep the forest green”, inviting us to understand this theme as the goal of our community – the duty to focus and preserve our culture, traditions and nature.

The Lithuanian National Cultural Center invites you to commemorate the anniversary of the Lithuanian Song Festival by planting a symbolic oak tree in every city where there is a Song Festival community.
