July 13 10 p.m. The „Travelling Weathervane: Faith, Legends and Book Giants” festival invites you to its second event, which will take place on the Parnidis dune in Nida. The artistic program of the event, which tells about the legends of amber, directed by Mariaus Tumšis, promises an unforgettable experience – mystified light projections will merge with the music interpreted by the composer Mariaus Salynas, creating an enchanting atmosphere, and the performer Laurita Peleniūtė will dive into the depths of the stories, conveying the world of legends with her voice.

Viktorija Binkulienė, the curator of the „Travelling Weathervane: Faith, Legends and Book Giants” festival, says that this festival is extremely important not only for the region of Little Lithuania, but also for Lithuania as a whole. The name of the festival „Travelling Weathervane” symbolizes mobility and the ability to visit different areas of the ethnographic region of Lesser Lithuania, spreading the word about the unique nature, culture, historical heritage and traditions of this region.
Nida will become a great place for amber legends to come to life. „Many nations have richly surrounded the origin of amber with legends and myths. However, the most romantic is the legend of the Lithuanian people about Jūrate and Kastytis. The immortal goddess Jūrate lived in an amber palace of fabulous beauty at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Once, after seeing Kastytis fishing, she fell in love with him, which angered the sky god Thunder. Enraged, Thunder drowned Kastytis and smashed the palace with powerful lightning. Until now, the waves of the sea carry the remnants of broken palaces to the shore, and the smallest pieces of amber are the tears of Jūrate, who is unhappy and cannot forget her love,” says Judita Eičinienė, deputy director of the Mizgiria Amber Museum, when asked about the most beautiful amber legend.

The Curonian Spit peninsula is not only a place of natural beauty and recreation, but also the cradle of mysterious amber legends, where a piece of amber hides stories and myths. During the event, playwright Mindaugas Valiuk's texts will reveal many unheard and only imagined facts about the origin of amber and its history. According to Audrius Laurutis, the director of the light projections, the mystified projections will dance around an object with many symbolic meanings – the sundial and the elemental treetops in the twilight of the night. The lights enable us to feel the legends that amber wants to tell us and the story that sleeps in it. A team of light projection designers will create a magical atmosphere that reflects the warmth and mystery of amber.
L. Peleniūtė, a well-known Lithuanian performer and folklore enthusiast, together with the group will present a program in which music and legends about amber will intertwine. The unique interpretation of voice and music will bring it to life, and the audience will be able to immerse themselves in the mystical world of stories. Laurita is famous for her ability to combine tradition with contemporary creativity, so her performances are always unique and engaging. The performer will invite the participants of the event to sing sutra songs together and will present a completely newly adapted sutra song „Gintarėlio lylia, gintarėlio lylia”.

The final event of the festival is on August 16. 9 p.m. „Faith” at the Vente Horn lighthouse. Watching the modern dance program of the „Nupiko” dance troupe, listening to contemporary and folkloric music, the festival audience will get to know the oldest lighthouse in Little Lithuania, which showed fishermen a safe way to the shore. Here, in commemoration of the Year of Lighthouses, the convocation of the lighthouses of Nida and Ventė horn will take place.
