
The cultural path organized by the Šilutė Culture and Entertainment Center for 10 years – „Vėtrungeu kelias” becomes the second certified national cultural path in Lithuania, encouraging to discover and get to know the ethnographic region of Lesser Lithuania.
in 2023 April 20 The Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania awarded the „Vėtrungeu kelias” certificate, which notes that the cultural path, which has been in operation for 10 years, becomes important at the national level.
„Vētrungiai kelias” is focused on revealing, highlighting and preserving maritime and coastal cultural heritage and maintaining the continuity of maritime lifestyle traditions.
Maritime and maritime culture includes activities related to navigation on traditional, historic ships, knowledge of navigation, fishing, maritime history, and the discovery of unique natural and urban landscapes. Maritime and littoral culture also includes cultural and artistic activities that draw inspiration from and interpret the unique combination of shore, water and wind.


The most important goal of the Culture Path is for as many Lithuanian residents as possible to discover the ethnographic region of Lesser Lithuania as a unique maritime land steeped in maritime culture. The contribution of this cultural route to the national heritage division and the nurturing of traditions is significant and sustainable, as it contributes to the revitalization, nurturing and development of historical, cultural and natural heritage objects and services.
in 2023 The season of „Vētrungių kelias” will start on June 26. and will be focused on the 100th anniversary of Klaipėda region joining Lithuania, and the main symbols of this season are lighthouses and everything related to the water theme.
